US 62 Along the Allegheny River

Warren, PA. South out of town on US RT6 to US RT62. Most of the ride is along the river nice scenery. Exit to the right, over the Allegheny River and follow US RT62 along the river and at 24 miles is Tidioute, PA. Nice old bridge crosses the river to Tidioute where theres food and drink. From Tidioute head south on US62 8 miles to Tionesta, which is a popular junction for bike trips. Food and fuel are abundent here. Theres river recreation, state park and, yes... more rides from Tionesta. The PA666 ride starts midway between Tidioute and Tionesta. More Allegheny river road lies to the south as RT62 crosses the river. Some riders head south out of Tionesta on PA36 to the PA36-PA66 crossroads to continue further into Allegheny Park.

The Allegheny River road is nice scenery with canoes and others enjoying the waters. There are small stores with gas and supplies every few miles.

The road is patchy at times more so in the upper 8-10 miles due to winter wear and tear.

Country store with gas right after Tidioute. Road to an overlook nearby. State park and lake in Tionesta with camping and recreation. Usual small stores in town.

I probably ride to or through Tionesta 8-10 times a season. Its a popular bike destination and jump off for other rides.
