Sign up freeFrom anywhere in the Simi Valley CA across the hills to Fillmore, CA. Get on the 118 (Ronald Reagan freeway) and head west. Take Princeton Ave exit and turn left at end of ramp, you'll go under the highway and see Simi HD on your left as you keep going straight on Princeton. Follow Princeton as it curves going into Moorepark CA and take a right on Spring Road and head up the hill. You will come to a T, and take a right on Walnut Canyon Road (AKA Route 23). This road will take you over the hills and twisties into Fillmore.
It's California, so don't expect a lot of green. But, you do get some good twisties, and some good views of hills (they call them mountains here, but not like CO). Then on the other side you drop into an irrigated valley with fruit trees, etc.
The road itself is good, but be on the lookout for dirt, sand and debris. There is a gravel pit up there, so trucks come in and out, and dirt gets on the road. Also some of the turns are very sharp switchbacks.
There are good places to stop and eat, get gas, etc. on either side. On the Moorpark side, try Rock and Roll Pizza (right off the road) and in Fillmore take a left at the stoplight to go to Ay Ay Chihuahua for good Mexican.
