Sign up freeThe route begins in Bunker, MO, at the intersection of MO-72 and 3rd Street (Hwy A). Head west on 3rd Street, then continue on Hwy A for approximately 15.8 miles to the intersection with MO-19. The end of the route is almost exactly halfway between Salem and Eminence on MO-19.
The first half of the route is in the Mark Twain National Forest, and is heavily wooded along most of its length. In the middle of the route, the road hugs the bluffs at the edges of Sinking and Little Sinking Creeks, and Barren Fork Creek, giving nice panoramic views of the valleys and surrounding ridges.
The route is very rolling with almost constant elevation changes, including a few steep inclines/declines. The route is mostly curvy, with occasional short straight sections, and has sections that are series of 30-35 MPH curves. The road surface is well maintained chip-and-seal pavement.
Bunker has a couple of restaurants and shops, although the route itself has no attractions or amenities.
This road is a popular connector between MO-72 and MO-19.
